Students begin with academic foundations and German at A1–A2, then progress towards a subject direction, stronger language proficiency and preparation for APS, VPD and institutional applications.

  1. 01Foundation

    Begin subject study and German

    Study mathematics and subjects relevant to the intended discipline alongside German at A1–A2.

  2. 02Development

    Establish a subject direction

    Follow an engineering-oriented T course or a business-oriented W course while working towards German B1 and developing English as required.

  3. 03Application

    Prepare for institutional applications

    Work through APS and VPD requirements and prepare either a direct application or a preparatory-course route, as appropriate.

Application Requirements

  • Direct-application route: a Gaokao score of 70% (525 out of 750)
  • Preparatory-course route: meeting the Gaokao undergraduate threshold
  • German-taught programmes: TestDaF Level 4 or DSH-2; English-taught programmes: IELTS 6.0–6.5
  • Available disciplines include engineering, business, science, humanities and social sciences
